When traveling to Laos for extended stays, if you plan to visit rural areas, it is recommended that you review current traveler's health immunization requirements. You can find current recommendations at http://www.mdtravelhealth.com/destinations/asia/laos.php.

Visit your country's traveler's health clinic at least 4 to 8 weeks in advance.

We advise you to bring along Dukoral or some other traveler's diarrhea and upset stomach medication, providing you are medically fit to take it - see your doctor. You can find out about Dukoral on your government websites such as http://www.healthyontario.com/DrugDetails.aspx?brand_id=1819&brand_name=Dukoral. Even products such as Pepto Bismol can significantly help.

A supply of common household drugs such as headache medicine is recommended.
