Wat Phu Champasak

A World Heritage Site, Wat Phu Champasak is a must have travel destination in Laos. It is an ancient Khmer religious complex with an aura of mystique and serenity. Viewing Wat Phu in person and walking its grounds is a truly enthralling experience that calms the soul and soothes the mind. It is a testament to the harmonious integration of man and nature. Wat Phu is a historically rich site going back to the 5th century A.D.

Although there is much resemblance to other Cambodian and Khmer religious compounds such as Angkor Wat, there is a significant difference in how the compound presents itself and in the natural landscape in which Wat Phu was built.
